Kati Bihu also known as the Kongali Bihu is a festival where we, the Assamese Community offer our prayers to our gods for a bountiful harvest.Kati Bihu is an important Assamese festival celebrated on the Sankranti of ‘Ahin’ and ‘Kati’ month of Assamese calendar to ensure strong growth and healthy crops. On this auspicious occasion I wish all the people of Assam a very Happy & prosperous KatiBihu .our farmers plant new crops and pray to the gods for a great harvest in the ensuing months.
As an urban farmer, I carry on with this tradition. We light diyas infront of Holy Basil or Tulsi Plant and seek blessings from the gods as we sow our seeds.
