India's longest ropeway service from Guwahati to North Guwahati over river Brahmaputra. The ropeway covers 2km distance from South Bank to North Bank.
The longest river ropeway service in the country over the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati was inaugurated on Monday 24 August 2020
It will be the first Ropeway in NE and longest in Asia over any River. Two cabins will carry passengers from both the sides. One side fare is Rs.60/- and round trip Rs.100/- per person.
The ropeway was conceived by GoA as an enabling infra project for additional all-purpose transportation between two banks of river Brahmaputra. The 1820 mtr ropeway, built at Rs 56 cr, shall accommodate 30 passengers in a cabin & complete the travel in 8 min.
